In this activity, students make predictions before listening to a text and record what they found after listening to a text. This activity can be modified so students are only engaging with oral text and respond to prompts through discussion.
This activity engages students in evaluating authors’ purpose. Students sort passages into three categories of author’s purpose: persuade, inform, and entertain.
